Artwork Story

The magic of Light & Color

Light has a pivotal importance in Persian architecture as it has a sacred place in its culture. The use of colourful glass arts brings a unique and unforgettable aura to interior spaces of a Persian guest room.

I’ve allocated extensive research to study such spaces and to make sure that my art accurately represents this concept and the cultural depth of Iranian guest rooms. Each motif on an individual element has a profound story behind it and I’ve tried to be as faithful as possible during the drafting of this piece.

Sash window (Orosi)

Sash window (Orosi) is a latticed window which opens upward and positioned in a particular place at the top, instead of revolving around a hinge. Lattice doors and windows with coloured glasses are great shades in Iran’s harsh sunlight and moreover, they reflect the light in different colours. This variety of colours provides a great sight for the building. In This painting Bella tried to show the inner side of a guest room with the very popular element in Persian architecture.

“Knowledge of the past and of the places of the earth is the ornament and food of the mind of man.”
